Guided by years of service, inspired by nature, and creating art with intention—one frame at a time.
My passion for photography began in childhood, exploring the world through the viewfinder of a Kodak Motormatic 35F and capturing life on black and white 35mm film. Even then, I was drawn to the quiet stories an image could tell and the way light shapes every detail.
Eventually, I set that passion aside to serve my country as a Marine Officer. Years later, it followed me into the skies. As a helicopter pilot in the United States Marine Corps, I kept a Minolta X-700 tucked in my helmet bag, always ready to capture a fleeting moment between missions.
During my time in the Marines, I witnessed the tragic loss of fellow Marines and aviators—experiences that left a deep mark on my life. After leaving the military, I continued a life of service in law enforcement, working as a Special Victims Unit detective in South Florida. I’ve seen the worst of what people can do to children and the most vulnerable in our society.
These experiences have given me a profound appreciation for the beauty and stillness of the natural world. Photography became my way to reconnect with that beauty—to seek out light, color, and meaning in the details that often go unnoticed.
For over 20 years, I’ve been shooting with Nikon digital cameras, honing my skills in-camera and during post production processing. Most recently, I’ve embraced Nikon’s mirrorless Z8, which allows me to explore nature’s complexity, intricate details and beauty with even greater clarity and creativity.
Today, I find fulfillment in capturing the landscapes, textures, and quiet moments that surround us. It is especially rewarding when one of my images stirs someone’s memory, evokes emotion, or simply reminds someone to pause and take in the world around them.
Thank you for being here. I hope my work offers you a moment of reflection - and perhaps a bit of wonder.
